Self portrait and portrait

Get closer to the subject it could be to small to give any impact.
Use props!
Self portrait doesn't have to be your face.

What I like about this photo is it shows a native man in his homeland, it looks very natural and the background is amazing its very beautiful, i picked this because it think it shows the environment good.

What I like about this photo is that it has the nice sunset in the background and the sandy looking floor, also in the floor you can see her reflection like she is laying on shiny sand. i choose it because it looks like she is laying on a magic beach.

I like this photo because it uses a mirror and the reflection is shown in her cracked mirror, I picked this photo because I think its very creative to use a broken mirror most people would consider trash.
I liked this photo because it uses props and words to show a message and she stands out because everything is black and white besides her, I picked this photo because i like the words it used.

I like this photo because the background is blurry so you can focus exactly on the subject, you can also see wind movement by her hair and it has nice lighting, I picked the photo because its very simple but still a good photo.
I like this photo because i think the baby is so cute, he is looking right at the camera so his eyes to me are the focus area i don't wonder off into the background, I picked this photo i like how its in black and white.

For my portrait assignment i will probably shoot with lizette and outside in the court yard help each other take the photos and have good lighting and background. And follow the rules of photography.

American soldier

I think picture 46 is the most powerful because it shows Ian with his new platoon, how far he has come and is now getting ready to go to Iraq.

set #1: 5, 6, 7,
set #2: 16, 17, 18 , 19 , 20 ,  21, 23 , 24 , 25 , 27 , 28 , 34 , 37 , 40 ,
set #3: 51 , 53 , 54 , 55 , 57, 58 , 59 , 60 , 61, 62 , 64 , 66 , 68 , 69 , 70 ,
set #4: 72 , 73 , 74 , 75 , 77 , 78 , 79 , 81 , 82 , 83

The most powerful images were the iraq ones because they show the most struggle.
the images tell a story together because they show ians journey in and out of the army.
The verbs are presence tense. The captions tell you whats going on.

Image #4 : Ian and his girlfriend Brittney give one kiss on top of the ferris wheel while they spend their last weekend together a the county fair.

Image #8 Ian patently waits with a group of people waiting for a bus to take them to the army base where he will be training for the army.

Image #14 Ian calls his mom on the pay phone at the base to the her about week so far in training camp before he showers and goes to bed.

Camera Sim

f4 1/125 sec there really is no background its very blurry.
f 5.6 1/60 sec background is still blurry though you can see black squares.
f 8m 1/125 sec back ground still blurry but you can tell its a building.
f 11 1/60 sec back ground is visible.
f 16 1/30 sec back ground is more clear.
f 22 1/8 sec back ground is very visible you can see the windows and vines.

At slower the shutter speed the more blurry the people get. The photographer could change the to be faster. The slowest shutter speed is 1/4 sec. Yes you can hand-hold the camera.

ISO.

 iso 200
iso 6400

The higher ISO the more sensitive it is to the light so during the night at sports it can collect more light.
using a low ISO you should have good lighting and it should be a slow picture.
using a high ISO you should you should stay 800 so you don't have a lot of grain.
